食字路口@Chinatown

Today have a really FUN n GREAT time..totally enjoy..HAHAH

We played 食字路口@Chinatown ..haha..creaked our brain to the max..

Rule of the game:

-Starting pt: Chinatown MRT

-Ending: CEntral plaza in the Long John Silver..

-food must link 榴莲 ==>> 猪肠 ==>> Creamy clam chowder
-Min is 12 dish of food..haha..

-Any dialect/language of food is allowed
-3 teams competing in the race: Red Yellow Green..colour of traffic lights.. Xiao Yuan's idea :)

-Loser do watever the winner say

-Start at 10 30 am; ending time is 2 pm

After given instructions:

食字路口出发！！！

All of us outside Chinatown MRT!! ^^

Our gp is GREEN..so the whole team of us wear green to match..yup..

Team gt Li wen, Chee, Hiang Suan, Sook n LEo(not in pic cos late) ^^

So off we go! First..we need find durian 榴莲 cos it is first food..nod nod..

DURIAN!!! 榴莲！！We brought it $3 at fruit stall..

Then after.. we think of

榴莲 ==>> 莲藕排骨汤 ^^

We actually tried 莲蓉莲子 but the ending very hard to continue.. so decided to end with 汤

This soup is super nice..but cost $3.50..

All of us hungry to eat.. ><

After that we still thinking of how to link to the 猪肠。。

We started to panick cos we like cant think of anything..

Later Chee think of tung hun..LOL..think is 冬粉..erm..think is canto..dun understand..lol..

But at least we going somewhere..so here it is..

Hiang suan n her tung hun..LOL..Cost $3.50 too..

Then we like all trying to match "hun".. scatch head..how to do it.. ><

Lucky i gt teammates that are well verse in watever language..LOL..so ended up with "hun tun mee" (云吞面)..yup..think this is hokkien or watever..haha..but heard before..so yup.

but then the "mee" dunno how to connect..LOL..

So Leo cleverly change to "hun tun mee pok" ..then we can find words with Pok Instead..

But one BIG prob is that almost all the mee stores in hawker center dun sell mee pok..LOL..I totally din know that people simply dun eat mee POk in terms of dumpling noodles..they only have it for the fishball noodle..LOL!!!

But we finally find one store that sell this unique combination..HAHAH..Thanks to li wen..haha..

Next..thanks to our gp Bilangual ability..we match "pok" with "Pomelo!!"
We cant fiind any desert stall in the hawker center that sell..so go outside..to this desert stall..quite nice..we order dunno wat name de..but it is mango mixed with pomelo..erm..but quite ex..cost like $3.50 for just one bowl..haizz..

Li wen happy that she can finally sit down..Hehe.. ^^

We tried to link to but still very hard..so we tried to continue again..to lo mai kia (steamed glutinous rice) ..time is already running short for us..is 12.40 pm la..n we haven connected to the middle zhu chang yet..ahaha..

Now we have

Yup..haha..but since i seldom eat veget..i dun even know how it look like..to me all lefty GREEN veget are SCARY..lol.. n btw..we heard that the YELLOW theams had finished..OH NO!!! ><

So we went on faster..not wanting to lose..

Our gp actually tot that 油菜 from the chicken rice store is kai-lan..but all the store owner of chicken tell us that it is NOT..haha...so look like i am not the only one that cant recognise veg..LOL..

So we ended up buying from mixed rice stall..nod nod.. ^^

To match the "Lan" is another challenge too..haizzz..

But being muti-language team..our gp come up with LUNcheon meat.. HAHAHA

We were like asking the owner how much it cost n the following happened..

Chee, Sock n li wen appoached the store owner...

Chee: Uncle, one luncheon meat cost how much ah..

Owner: 80 cent

Li wen (SHOUTED rite in the owner's face) : WHAT!!! 80 CENT!!!???

Chee n Sock all stunned at li wen's out burst..

HAHAHAHHAAH..

We were all standing by the side..so we can clearly saw everyone's expression..LOL..think if i am in li wen place..i will also do the same thing..haha..but the funny thing is the way these things happened in such a short time..but it really so ex..one bee hoon only 60 cent n u tell me that one luncheon meat cost 80 cent?? hahaha..

So now we FINALLY matched it with 猪肠 YEAH!!!

Now we have to try link 猪肠 to Creamy clam clowder..LOL..need crack our brain again..n we running short of time..it is already 1.30 pm..ahahahaha.. ><

So we continued from the "chang" and came up with "chang dou" (长豆)..

So now we have..

Cost $1..we brought from Maaly store..actually tot will be super hot..but ended up ok la..so yup..i never fond of veg but to win the game..EAT!!!!! ^^

Then we link "dou" with "豆浆 ice cream" from MR bean..YEAH!! Finally sth COLD!!!

We brought the cup de..LEo n e ice-cream!!

So now we have..

We din see the red team there..only yellow who finished an hour before us..LOL..

Li wen then become excited n come up with suggestion of forfit for the loser red team..

She like so happy..

Finally the red team came..they say they gt struckwith aninteresting last dish so ended up late..so they took up the camera n showed us..

We gathered ard to look..

OMG!!!

Hahah..it is NOT the video of their last dish..it is actually a video of them in Long John Silver!! like 45 mins before us!!

WE ARE CHEATED!!

We are actually the team who lost..LOL..

Li wen is like shouting.haha..cos she is the one who think of the forfite..n now we have to do it instead..LOL.. 害人害己..Hahah..they keep saying is our 报应..LOL.
